Spring of Hope International

Urgent Initiatives:

  • Food Security – We believe by providing the right training and changing the mind set, communities can be transformed to be food secure. We are looking for resources to provide free technical training to families in our region. We would like to train 500 families before the year ends.
  • Providing education opportunities – Getting education in Africa is expensive. Many families in Africa are not able to afford access to education. We need resources to help the poor students who might be the future leaders in Africa. Education is still one of the keys to unlock opportunities in Africa and break the circle of poverty. We would like to give a gift of education to 200 students before the end of the year.
  • Spring of Hope International Transformation Center – The center can be used now but we still need to finish some few details to make it a place of inspiration. We would like to have the center equipped and ready by the end of the year.
  • Drilling – Water is still one of the greatest needs in Africa. Providing wells that deliver water to families remains at the core of our organization. We would like to drill 2 wells by the end of the year.

Union Gospel Mission

Urgent Initiatives:

  • Expanding services in the LC Valley (Lewiston/Clarkston) requires an investment to train staff in the Genesis Process (a trauma-informed, relapse prevention program).
  • Aftercare Housing is utilized for long-term recovery residents transitioning out of the program.
  • Renovating the Men’s Shelter and Administrative facilities on Trent Avenue is required after decades of use — including the kitchen, classrooms, offices, and warehouse storage.
  • Breaking the cycle of addiction through UGM’s recovery programs offers individuals a pathway out of homelessness and a healthier community.
  • Employment training and opportunities are provided through job coaching, computer access and assistance, GED support, and classes.

Vanessa Behan

Urgent Initiative:

At Vanessa Behan, our number one priority is to say “Yes” to every child and their parent in need. This means reaching capacity in our new home. We designed our new, larger space because we were turning away one out of every three requests for help. While our new space allows us to triple the number of children served and provide additional programs that support parents, it also requires us to double our revenue. Your support means a child receives the loving and nurturing support when they need it most.

Young Life

Urgent Initiatives:

  • $45,000 Matching funding for 9 young “Future Leaders” to reach teens moms, middle school students, and high school students in Spokane
  • $1,000 Student leadership program to develop leadership and community ownership in high school students
  • $7,500 Camp scholarship money for kids from Rogers and North Central High Schools to go to summer camp
  • The Young Life Whitworth Training Program $5,000 – This program helps fund the Young Life College Training Program at Whitworth University. This program develops and launches college leaders into Young Life Ministry across this city!
