We kicked off the first week of the second quarter with NASCAR Days and a celebration of our team, partners, and customers. DAA Seattle has been humming along, capturing the lion’s share of consignment and buyer activity in the Seattle region. The market has been exceptionally strong in the lanes with over 70% fresh consignment every week and dealer attendance at an all-time high.
Years ago when DAA Seattle established Friday as our in-lane sale day we received mixed reviews. We stuck with it, and now Friday is a staple for our dealers’ remarketing needs. We are extremely grateful that you choose to do business with us and are determined to honor your decision by delivering exceptional customer service and top-performing results. During last week’s NASCAR Days promotion, Ford Andy Brown and Michelle Robertson from Ford presented our team with this year’s ASAP Award based on DAA Seattle’s 2022 performance. Additionally, during the recent CAR Conference, our team earned performance awards from Exeter Financial and Holman. Receiving awards like this is an honor but what’s most satisfying is seeing our team members recognized for their hard work and dedication.
The first quarter of 2023 exceeded our projections. While the industry experienced a 29% decline year-over-year, DAA Seattle experienced a 62% increase in sold transactions. As we enter the second quarter, conversions have begun to drop a bit but we continue to gather fresh inventory and are experiencing industry-leading results. Next month we will celebrate 10 years at DAA Seattle. What I find most gratifying is the community that we have established and the history of dealers that have partnered with us to build a market, establishing trust and having fun along the way.
