Market Insights: Historic Tradition Delivers an All-Time Record

October 8, 2024 | Market Insights from Joe LeMonds

Fridays are always special here at DAA Seattle, but this past week stood out amongst the rest. We kicked off October with our annual Moose Sale honoring the auction’s family tradition established by Bob McConkey, Sr., seven decades ago.

In true PNW fashion, the rainy weather couldn’t dissuade an incredible turnout. Our commercial & dealer partners showed up in droves, launching us into a record day for DAA Seattle. We were able to offer 1400 cars to the market last week — and we sold 900 of them!

Even before the sale, there was a palpable level of excitement starting on Thursday as buyers previewed the following day’s offering. The increased volume from our local and distant buyer base created an on-the-floor energy that was tangible.

I would be remiss if I didn’t highlight the immense level of effort and care that our team put into this record day. Each department banded together to ensure both buyers and sellers had the best experience possible.

As we look forward to the remainder of 2024, our team is focused on continued growth and refinement so you, our partners, can experience what makes DAA Seattle, and MAG, different. We understand that supply availability, economics, elections, and many other factors impact you and your business. Our goal is to be consistent in our market approach so you can feel confident that we are here with you in the tough times as well as the good ones.

Thank you to each of the 650+ bidders who joined us in lane and online this past week. Your partnership is instrumental in what we do every week. See you Friday in the lanes and online!
