August 30, 2021 | Market Insights from DAA Northwest’s Collin McConkey.
We ROCKED and ROLLED last week.
I want to start by thanking all our customers who came out and celebrated with us. We shook the promo cobwebs off and had a blast running over 3,000 units and selling 2,000 over two days.
Our Wednesday sale was strong, with Ford Motors running a closed and open sale alongside many Canadian trucks and a lane of dealer trades. We were blown away to have an 85% conversion on Wednesday. This was a good sign for all and confirmed that retail is still strong with grosses remaining at record highs. We were happy to host many industry influencers from the likes of Ford Motor Company, Hyundai Motor Finance, Kia America, Alaska Federal Credit Union, Ally Auto Remarketing, Idaho Central Credit Union, BECU, TPC Management, U-Haul Fleet Remarketing, Cognosos, NextGear Capital, Kinetic Advantage flooring, AFC, and many more.
After the successful sale Wednesday, the team worked their magic and converted the sale into a full-blown rock show. The Cronkites warmed up the stage for Barenaked Ladies. Those who stuck it out to the end were treated with custom written songs about DAA Northwest, Spokane’s notorious Dick’s Hamburgers, and a convincing Led Zeppelin cover.
Thursday, we woke up to a freshly cleaned lot and no signs of the show lingering. We opened all 12 lanes, ran 2,500 units, and knocked it out of the park. The Rock & Roll sale energy was high, and it felt like old times. The barn was packed full of people and the market was strong.
I am extremely proud of the MAG team (customers included). We came from all across the Pacific Northwest and banded together, showing grit, working hard, and taking care of business while having a blast. Thank you for rocking with us! And now that Rock & Roll is over, it is time for you to all start asking the inevitable, “So who is playing next year…?”
Thanks,
Collin McConkey
