January 29, 2021 | Spokane, WA – McConkey Auction Group (MAG) announced today several new management positions and promotions.
With an increasing need for integrated technology solutions, MAG has hired Aaron McConkey as VP of Strategic Technology. McConkey served as Auction Edge’s Product Director for the past eight years. His expertise in leading high-performing teams that create user-centric software products is key as MAG continues to focus on personalized service during an era of digital transformation.
Southern California-based ABS Auto Auctions – recently purchased by MAG – has promoted Steve Boyes and Ed Hebert to the newly-created position of Regional Manager. Boyes has served as ABS’ Orange County District Manager for the past ten years; prior to joining ABS, he spent over 20 years as a buyer and used car manager. He will oversee ABS sales and operations throughout Southern California, Arizona, and Nevada, while Ed Hebert will manage ABS auctions from Oregon south to Fresno, California. Hebert founded UVA digital auctions, which he continued to manage after selling to Brasher’s Auto Auctions. He has served as ABS’ Silicon Valley District Manager since 2018. “Steve and Ed have been instrumental in ABS’ success,” says Tom Harmon, ABS Auto Auctions’ Senior Vice President and founder. “We knew we needed experienced, proven leadership in our Territory Manager positions; we’re fortunate to have just that in both Steve and Ed,” he adds.
DAA Las Vegas joined the McConkey Auction Group earlier in 2020 and has been steadily building its team. Recent internal promotions include Stacy Schuch – Office Manager, Matt Barrett – Operations Manager, and Andy Sellers – Dealer Sales Manager. Sellers transferred to DAA Las Vegas from DAA Northwest, MAG’s Spokane, Washington location. “I’m really proud of the team we’ve assembled, and these three will be a huge part of our growth,” states DAA Las Vegas General Manager Joe LeMonds.
With an increase in personnel across several states, MAG has promoted Ashleigh Mathews to VP of Human Resources. Mathews previously directed HR for MAG’s Pacific Northwest auctions and was instrumental in guiding team members through the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, Kaylen Bucher has been promoted to McConkey Auction Group’s Marketing Manager. Bucher brings extensive digital marketing experience to the organization.
“We have a culture of Servant Leadership, and these people embody that,” says Bob McConkey, MAG’s President and CEO. “I’m really proud of this team and what they’re accomplishing as they serve our customers and their fellow employees,” he adds.
